Malegra 25 mg is a low-dose sildenafil tablet used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED) in adult men. It is made by Sunrise Remedies Pvt Ltd. and belongs to the PDE-5 inhibitor group of medicines.

25 mg is the lowest strength in approved sildenafil labeling. It helps a man get and keep an erection when he is sexually stimulated, but it does not cure ED, does not raise desire and does not treat low libido.

What is Malegra 25 mg?

Who is the 25 mg dose for?

In sildenafil labeling the usual dose is 50 mg, so 25 mg is used when a lower dose is wanted. Your doctor may suggest it if you:

What is it used for?

It is used for erectile dysfunction, which means difficulty getting or keeping an erection firm enough for intercourse. ED is common and treatable, but it is not curable by this medicine, so the effect lasts only while the tablet is active. ED can also be an early sign of heart disease or diabetes, so see a doctor.

How does it work?

When a man is sexually aroused, the body releases nitric oxide, which raises a chemical called cyclic GMP in the penis. This relaxes the blood vessels and lets blood flow in. Sildenafil blocks the PDE-5 enzyme that breaks cyclic GMP down, so blood flow stays higher and an erection can develop. It does not work without sexual stimulation.

How to take Malegra 25 mg

1. Take one tablet about 30 to 60 minutes before sexual activity.
2. Swallow it whole with water.
3. Avoid a heavy, fatty meal, which can delay the effect.
4. Avoid alcohol and grapefruit juice.
5. Take no more than one tablet in 24 hours unless your doctor tells you otherwise.

The effect usually lasts around 4 hours. It is taken only when needed, so there is no regular schedule and nothing to “catch up” if you skip a dose. You do not need to taper off or stop it gradually.

Precautions

• Tell your doctor about your medical history, especially heart problems, low or high blood pressure, kidney or liver disease, diabetes, and any sudden vision loss.
• Do not use it if you are allergic to sildenafil.
• Do not share it with others.
• Dizziness and drowsiness can occur, so do not drive or use machinery until you know how it affects you.
• It is for adult men only. It is not for women, including those who are pregnant or breastfeeding, or for anyone under 18.
• Older men should have their treatment reviewed regularly.

Drug interactions

Never take it with nitrate medicines for chest pain, or with riociguat. The combination can cause a dangerous fall in blood pressure. Also tell your doctor if you take:

• alpha-blockers or other blood pressure medicines;
• blood thinners;
• antidepressants;
• antifungals, antivirals or HIV medicines such as ritonavir;
• other ED medicines;
• herbal supplements, sleeping pills or any other medicines, including vitamins.

Side effects of Malegra 25 mg

Most side effects are mild to moderate and often ease as your body adjusts:

• headache and dizziness
• flushing
• nausea, indigestion, stomach pain or diarrhoea
• a stuffy nose
• blurred vision
• dry mouth or ringing in the ears
• pain in the back, arms or legs
• drowsiness or weakness

Get medical help straight away for chest pain, a fast or irregular heartbeat, fainting, blood in the urine, sudden loss of vision or hearing, or an erection lasting more than 4 hours.

What if you take too much?

Taking more than directed can cause chest pain, fainting, a sudden fall in blood pressure and an irregular heartbeat. If this happens, get medical help straight away.
