Malegra Professional 100mg (Sildenafil Citrate)

Malegra Professional 100mg is a sildenafil tablet that dissolves in the mouth, used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED) in adult men. It is made by Sunrise Remedies Pvt Ltd. and belongs to the PDE-5 inhibitor group of medicines.

It helps a man get and keep an erection when he is sexually stimulated, but it does not cure ED. Sildenafil is a prescription medicine in most countries, so use it only if a doctor says it is right for you.

What is Malegra Professional 100mg?

Each tablet holds 100 mg of sildenafil citrate, the highest dose in approved sildenafil labeling. “Professional” refers to the soft form that melts in the mouth, so no water is needed. This suits men who dislike swallowing tablets, but it has not been shown to work faster than a regular tablet.

It sits alongside Malegra 25 mg and Malegra 100. Similar dissolving or chewable products include Cenforce Professional and Kamagra Polo Chewable.

What is it used for?

It is used for erectile dysfunction, meaning trouble getting or keeping an erection firm enough for intercourse. Sildenafil is also sold at a lower strength for pulmonary hypertension, but that is a separate use under a specialist, and Malegra Professional 100mg is sold for ED only.

How does it work?

When a man is aroused, the body makes a chemical called cyclic GMP, which relaxes the muscle in the blood vessels of the penis and lets blood flow in. Sildenafil blocks the PDE-5 enzyme that breaks cyclic GMP down, so blood flow stays higher and an erection can develop. It does not work without sexual stimulation.

Malegra Professional 100mg dosage

In approved sildenafil labeling the usual dose is 50 mg, which may be raised to 100 mg or lowered to 25 mg. The 100 mg tablet is the maximum, taken no more than once in 24 hours. How to take it

1. Take one tablet about 30 to 60 minutes before sexual activity.
2. Let it dissolve in your mouth, following the directions in the pack.
3. Avoid a heavy, fatty meal, which can delay the effect.
4. Avoid alcohol and grapefruit juice.
5. Take no more than one tablet in 24 hours.

The effect starts within about 30 to 60 minutes and usually lasts around 4 hours. It is taken only when needed, so if you skip a dose, there is nothing to make up. Never take two tablets together.

Precautions

• Ask your doctor before you start, and tell them about every medicine you take, including over-the-counter and herbal products.
• Tell them about heart, liver, kidney or blood pressure problems, and any sudden vision loss.
• Do not use it with other ED medicines.
• Do not use it if you are allergic to sildenafil or any ingredient in the tablet.
• It can cause dizziness, so do not drive or use machinery until you know how it affects you.
• It is for adult men only. It is not for women or children.

Drug interactions

Never take it with nitrate medicines for chest pain, or with riociguat. The combination can cause a dangerous fall in blood pressure. Also ask your doctor before you combine it with:

• alpha-blockers and other blood pressure medicines;
• antibiotics such as erythromycin;
• antifungals such as ketoconazole;
• HIV medicines such as ritonavir;
• seizure medicines.

Side effects

Most side effects are mild and short-lived:

• headache and dizziness
• flushing
• an upset stomach or diarrhoea
• tiredness
• blurred vision

Get medical help straight away for chest pain, a fast or irregular heartbeat, trouble breathing, fainting, sudden loss of vision or hearing, or an erection lasting more than 4 hours. If you take too much, get medical help right away.

Is it the same as Viagra?

Both contain sildenafil and work in the same way. Viagra is the original brand made by Pfizer, while Malegra Professional is a generic made by a different company. A 100 mg Viagra tablet and this tablet hold the same amount of sildenafil, but the form differs, as this one dissolves in the mouth.

Storing Malegra Professional 100mg

• Keep it in a cool, dry place, away from sunlight and water.
• Keep it in its original pack until you are ready to use it.
• Keep it out of the reach of children and pets.
• Do not use it if the pack is damaged or past its expiry date.
