About Cenforce 25 mg (Sildenafil Citrate)
Cenforce 25 mg contains 25 mg of sildenafil citrate, a medicine used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED) in men. It is made by Centurion Laboratories Pvt Ltd and is a generic version of the sildenafil in Viagra.
It is the lowest strength in the Cenforce range. It helps men get and keep an erection when they are sexually stimulated. It does not work without stimulation, it does not raise sex drive and it does not cure ED.
Cenforce 25 mg is a prescription medicine. It should only be used after a doctor has checked your health, your other medicines and whether this strength is suitable for you.
What is Cenforce 25 mg used for?
Cenforce 25 is used to treat ED, the repeated difficulty in getting or keeping an erection firm enough for sex. ED has many causes, including reduced blood flow, heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, obesity, smoking, alcohol, some medicines, stress and anxiety. Your doctor can explain the causes of erectile dysfunction and check whether sildenafil is right for you.
A lower strength such as 25 mg is sometimes prescribed to men over 65, men with liver or kidney problems, and men who take medicines that raise sildenafil levels. Your doctor decides which strength is suitable, so do not choose one on your own.
How does Cenforce 25 mg work?
Sexual stimulation causes the body to release a chemical called cGMP, which relaxes the muscles in the blood vessels of the penis and lets more blood flow in. An enzyme called PDE5 breaks cGMP down. Sildenafil citrate blocks PDE5, so cGMP lasts longer, blood flow stays higher and an erection is easier to get and keep.
Cenforce 25 mg dosage and how to take it
- Take it only as directed by your doctor. Do not increase the dose without medical advice if you feel it is not working.
- Take one tablet with a glass of water, usually about 30 to 60 minutes before sexual activity. Do not break, crush or chew it.
- Do not take it more than once in 24 hours.
- It can be taken with or without food. It may work faster on an empty or light stomach, and a heavy or high-fat meal can delay it.
- Effects can last about 4 to 5 hours and vary from person to person.
Other strengths of the same medicine include: Cenforce 50, Cenforce 100, Cenforce 150 and Cenforce 200. All contain sildenafil citrate and differ only in strength.
Missed dose and overdose
Cenforce is taken only when needed, so there is no regular schedule to miss. Never take more than one tablet in 24 hours. If you have taken too much, or feel very unwell afterwards, get medical help or contact a poison control centre right away. Signs can include severe dizziness, fainting, chest pain, a pounding heartbeat or vision changes.
Interactions: what not to combine with Cenforce 25 mg
Never combine Cenforce 25 mg with nitrates (for example nitroglycerin, isosorbide mononitrate or isosorbide dinitrate) or with riociguat. The mix can cause a sudden, dangerous drop in blood pressure. Tell your doctor about every medicine, vitamin and supplement you use, especially:
- Alpha-blockers such as tamsulosin and terazosin
- Blood pressure medicines
- Antifungals and antibiotics such as ketoconazole and clarithromycin
- HIV medicines such as ritonavir and atazanavir
- Other ED medicines
Food and drink: avoid grapefruit and grapefruit juice, which can raise sildenafil levels. Alcohol can increase dizziness and low blood pressure and can make erections harder to get.
Precautions: who should not take Cenforce 25 mg
- Do not use it if you are allergic to sildenafil or any ingredient, or if you take nitrates or riociguat.
- It is not for women, including pregnant or breastfeeding women, and not for anyone under 18.
- Talk to your doctor first if you have heart disease, a recent heart attack or stroke, high or low blood pressure, liver or kidney disease, a bleeding disorder, a stomach ulcer, sickle cell disease, leukaemia, multiple myeloma, retinitis pigmentosa or a penile condition such as Peyronie’s disease.
- If you have been told to avoid sexual activity because of a heart condition, do not use it.
- Tell your doctor how much alcohol or other substances you use.
- It can cause dizziness and vision changes. Do not drive or use machinery until you know how it affects you.

Cenforce 25 mg FAQs
How long does Cenforce 25 take to work?
It usually starts to work in 30 to 60 minutes. A heavy or fatty meal can slow it down.
Is Cenforce 25 the same as Viagra?
Both contain sildenafil citrate, so they work the same way and carry similar warnings and side effects. Cenforce is a generic made by a different manufacturer and usually costs less. Read more about whether Viagra is a safe medication.
Who is Cenforce 25 suitable for?
Only a doctor can say. A lower strength is sometimes chosen for older men, men with liver or kidney problems, or men taking interacting medicines. It is not for anyone under 18 or for women.
Can I take Cenforce 25 with nitrates?
No. Combining sildenafil with nitrate medicines can cause a dangerous drop in blood pressure.
Can I drink alcohol with Cenforce 25?
It is best to avoid or limit alcohol. It can increase dizziness and low blood pressure and can make it harder to get an erection.
What should I do if Cenforce 25 does not work?
Do not take extra tablets or change strength on your own. Talk to your doctor, who can check for other causes, such as the causes of impotence, and decide whether a different treatment is needed.
