Description
About Ukegra Gold 100 mg
Ukegra Gold 100 mg is a tablet containing sildenafil citrate, a medicine prescribed for erectile dysfunction (ED) in adult men. Sildenafil is the active ingredient that Viagra made famous, and it belongs to the PDE-5 inhibitor family. The Ukegra Gold range is made by Centurion Laboratories in India.
ED is a persistent difficulty getting or keeping an erection firm enough for intercourse. Most men notice it at some point, and it is far more common than people admit. It affects relationships and confidence, which is why many men put off seeing a doctor. It is also very treatable.
The tablet does one job. It makes it easier for blood to flow into the penis when a man is aroused. It does not create desire, it does not cause an erection by itself, and it does not improve sexual “performance” beyond that effect. It also does not cure ED, so the benefit lasts only while the medicine is active.
100 mg is the highest dose in approved sildenafil labeling. Many men are advised to begin on 50 mg or even 25 mg and move up only if needed, so a 100 mg tablet is not an automatic first choice. Sildenafil is a prescription medicine in most countries, and a doctor should decide whether it suits you.
Compare similar 100 mg tablets such as Cenforce 100, Fildena 100, Malegra 100 and Kamagra Gold 100mg. You will find more strengths in our sildenafil category.
Uses of Ukegra Gold 100 mg
The only approved use of this tablet is to treat erectile dysfunction in men aged 18 and over. It may help when the cause is physical, psychological or a mix of both.
- ED linked to diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol or other blood vessel disease.
- ED linked to nerve problems, for example after some surgery or injury.
- ED linked to obesity, smoking or heavy alcohol use.
- ED with a psychological component, such as anxiety, stress or depression.
- ED that has no clear cause after a doctor’s assessment.
It is not a treatment for premature ejaculation, infertility, low testosterone or a marriage problem. If those are your concern, a doctor can point you towards the right care.
How Ukegra Gold 100 mg works
The chemistry of an erection
An erection is a blood-flow event. When you feel sexually aroused, nerves in the penis release nitric oxide. That raises a chemical messenger called cyclic GMP, which relaxes the muscle in the walls of the penile arteries. The arteries widen, blood fills the spongy tissue, and the penis stiffens.
An enzyme called PDE-5 normally breaks cyclic GMP down. In men with ED the signal may fade too early. Sildenafil blocks PDE-5, which lets cyclic GMP last longer and the blood vessels stay relaxed. The result is a better chance of getting and keeping an erection, as long as you are aroused.
What to expect from one tablet
Most men notice the effect 30 to 60 minutes after the tablet. The medicine usually works for about four hours, and its effect fades gradually rather than switching off. A heavy, fatty meal can delay absorption, so a light meal gives more predictable results.
It may take a few attempts before you can judge how well a dose works for you. Nerves, tiredness, alcohol and stress can all interfere, and they are not signs that the medicine has failed.
Dosage and administration
Labeled doses
In approved sildenafil labeling, the recommended starting dose is 50 mg. Depending on how well it works and how well it is tolerated, the dose may be raised to 100 mg or lowered to 25 mg. 100 mg is the highest dose, and the tablet may be taken no more than once in 24 hours. The sildenafil patient drug information page gives a plain-language summary.
How to take it
- Take one tablet about 30 to 60 minutes before you plan sexual activity.
- Swallow the tablet whole with water.
- Take it with or without food, but avoid a heavy, greasy meal beforehand.
- Avoid grapefruit juice, which can raise sildenafil levels.
- Keep alcohol low. It can reduce the effect and add to dizziness.
- Do not take more than one tablet in 24 hours.
Who usually starts lower
A lower starting dose is often advised for men over 65, men with liver disease or severe kidney disease, and men taking medicines that slow the breakdown of sildenafil. Men on alpha-blockers also start at the lowest dose. If any of these describe you, a 100 mg tablet is unlikely to be the right place to begin.
If the tablet seems weak
Do not take a second tablet in the same day. Speak to your doctor instead. They can check the timing, the food and alcohol you had, your other medicines, and whether a different treatment suits you better.
Drug interactions
Sildenafil can interact with other medicines, and some combinations are dangerous. Tell your doctor and pharmacist about everything you take, including over-the-counter products, herbal remedies and recreational drugs.
- Nitrates such as nitroglycerin and isosorbide, and recreational “poppers”: never combine. They can cause a sudden and severe fall in blood pressure.
- Riociguat, used for lung conditions: never combine, for the same reason.
- Alpha-blockers and other blood pressure medicines: can lower blood pressure further. Use only under a doctor’s supervision.
- Ritonavir and other HIV protease inhibitors: strongly raise sildenafil levels. A very low dose, or a different treatment, is needed.
- Ketoconazole, itraconazole, erythromycin and clarithromycin: raise sildenafil levels, so a lower dose is advised.
- Other ED medicines such as tadalafil or vardenafil: do not combine.
Food and drink
- Grapefruit and grapefruit juice can increase sildenafil levels.
- A heavy, fatty meal delays the effect.
- Alcohol can make dizziness and flushing worse.
Side effects
Most side effects are mild to moderate and settle within hours as the tablet wears off. Not everyone has them.

- flushing of the face and neck
- indigestion, nausea or an upset stomach
- a stuffy nose

Get medical help straight away if you notice any of these.

Precautions and warnings
- Do not take it if you are allergic to sildenafil or any ingredient in the tablet.
- Do not take it if you use nitrate medicines or riociguat.
- Do not take it if you have a serious heart condition, very low blood pressure, or have had a stroke or heart attack recently.
- Do not take it if a doctor has told you that sexual activity is unsafe for your heart.
- Tell your doctor if you have liver or kidney disease.
- Tell your doctor if you have an inherited eye disease such as retinitis pigmentosa, or have ever lost vision suddenly.

- Do not use it with other ED treatments.
- It is for men aged 18 and over only. It is not for women or children.
Heart health
Sex is physical activity, and some heart conditions make it unsafe. Your doctor should check your heart before you start. If you get chest pain, dizziness or breathlessness during sex, stop and seek help, and do not use a nitrate tablet to treat the pain without medical advice.
Daily life
Dizziness and vision changes can occur. Do not drive or use machinery until you know how the tablet affects you.
Storage
- Store at room temperature, away from heat, damp and direct sunlight.
- Keep the tablets in the original pack.
- Keep them out of the reach of children and pets.
- Do not use them after the expiry date.
